Funeral services for Raymond ?Ray? H. Edwards, 78, will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2007 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with burial following in Magnolia Cemetery.
His family will receive guests from 5-8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Ray was born January 13, 1929 in Beaumont to John and Maudebell Edwards and passed away August 28, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. He was a Navy ?Seabee? having served during the Vietnam War. After his service in the war, Mr. Edwards worked as a Draftsman for Bethlehem Steel. He was very active with VVA Chapter 292. After retiring from Bethlehem Steel, he opened a lawnmower repair shop at his residence and had an active and personal role in the life of his family.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Edwards; two brothers and two sisters, he is survived by his two sons, Randy Edwards, Sr. and his wife, Carol of Beaumont, Terry Edwards and wife, Pam of Slidell, Louisiana; grandchildren, Tammy, Wendy, Andy, Amber, Randy, Jr., James, Kenneth, Darron and Dillon; and sister, Margaret Holst of Beaumont.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ray?s name to VVA Chapter 292.
