Raymond Joubert

Raymond Joubert, 90, of Bridge City passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 at The Meadows in Orange.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Bridge City with Reverend Bob Boone officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Mr. Joubert was born January 11, 1921 in Lawtell, LA to Lucien and Ella Mary Bertrand Joubert. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a retired insulator with the Asbestos Workers Local 112 in Lake Charles. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Bridge City. Mr. Joubert was also a Master Mason with the Masonic Lodge 1345 and achieved the 32nd degree Scottish Rite.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucien and Ella Joubert; wife of 56 years, Jacqueline Thompson Joubert; sisters, Helen Ebenoch and Mary Ream and brothers, Albert Joubert, Shirley Joubert and Medward Joubert.

Mr. Joubert is survived by his children, Danny Joubert of Malakoff, Theresa Joubert of Arlington, Raymond Joubert, Jr. and wife, Maggie of Orange, Jennifer Poche and husband, Roy of Port Acres and Freida Brasseaux and husband, Marty of Bridge City; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and dear friend, Abigale Browning.

Serving as pallbearers will be Charlie Williams, Chris Skinner, Jeremy Poche, Ricky McClelland, David Livingston, Adam Caillavet and Lucas Duval.
