Raymond McKinley Shadle

Raymond McKinley Shadle, 83, of Orange, died Monday, October 4, 2010, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with Reverend Lynn Ashcraft officiating. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Born in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 13, 1926, Raymond was the son of Alma Vanderpelt and McKinley Shadle. He was a longtime member and a Deacon at North Orange Baptist Church and he retired from DuPont as a maintenance foreman. Raymond was also a cabinet builder, and was very talented in woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Louise Brown; and brother, E.B. Shadle.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rose Marie Shadle of Orange; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Bill Smith of Orange; and son and daughter-in-law, David and Catherine Shadle of Beaumont.

He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Kristi Smith of Austin and Kevin Smith and his wife Alyson of Bridge City; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Kollin and Kaylea Smith; brother and sister, Otis Lee Shadle and Billie Jean Hargrove, both of Conway, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to North Orange Baptist Church, 4775 16th Street, Orange, Texas 77632.
