A memorial service celebrating the life of Joan Carter, 73, of Nome, TX will be held July 10, 2015 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Claybar Funeral Home Beaumont. Mrs. Carter was born June 13, 1942 in Dayton, Texas and passed away July 7, 2015 in Beaumont, TX.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her sons, John Carter and his wife, Karen, of Labelle, TX and Buckley Carter of Nome; grandchildren, Paige Denise Carter and Caston Cade Lummus; brother, William “Bud” Stratton and sister, Linda Cox. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Scott and brother, Jackie Stratton.

Mrs. Carter loved two things in her life, her family and picking blackberries.
