Rena Richard White

Rena Richard White, 91, was born May 9, 1919 to Ivory Joseph and Annie Lee Richard in Sour Lake, TX. She attended school and lived in Nome, TX. Ms. White passed away at Summer Place in Beaumont on November 15, 2010. Rena was a long time resident of the Beaumont area and was a licensed barber. She owned the Franklin Center Barber Shop where she actively worked into her 80's before retiring.

She is survived by her extended family; Camille Edmonds, children of choice; Glenda Cook, Jim Edmonds and wife Theresa, Richard Cook and her special chosen grandchildren; Vicki McMillan Robert, Sam Magee Lisa, Jacklyn Still Jeff, Teri Vodicka, Tanny Hunt, Gretchen Miller, Chance and Gentry Magee, Kaelee Lewis and James Edmonds. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Rena was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; L.J., J.B., Leroy and a sister, Irene Priddy.

A memorial service followed by a rosary will take place Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.

The family wishes to thank all the staff and employees of Summer Place for the wonderful care given to Rena. They would also like to thank Odyssey Hospice for their care and kindness.

Rena was my Godmother. I will always remember that unique laugh that only Rena could do! Going to visit her at the barber shop was always fun.
