Richard Briley, 69, of West Orange, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, in Harbor Hospital in Orange.

Funeral services will be at Claybar Funeral Home on Saturday, April 11, 2009, at 2:00 P.M.. Officiating will be Pastor David Lilley of the Living Faith Fellowship Church.

Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 10, 2009, from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M.

Richard was born on October 8, 1939 in Grand Prarie, LA. He was the son of Lee Briley and Clemence Fontenot Briley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lane Briley; grandson, Clayton Briley; brothers, Nolan Briley and Tom Briley.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Briley: daughter, Joni Briley; sons, Thad Briley and wife Denise; Sean Briley and wife, Kristin; Joey Briley; and daughter-in-law, Liz Gay; grandchildren, Lauren, Dillon, Jordan, and Lindsey.

He is also survived by one brother, Ronald Briley of Grand Prarie, LA. and four sisters; Rose Pitre of Ville Platte, LA., Anna Lee Courville of Groves, TX., Maeise Deshotel of Ville Platte, LA. and Weida Hargroder of Opelousas, L.A..

Pallbearers will be Dillon Briley, Jordan Briley, Chris Briley, Wayne Deshotel, Sam Brown and Michael Lemoine. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Deshotel, Ray Bagley, John Toohey and Charlie Brown.

The family would like to express a special thanks and appreciation to the staff at Harbor Hospital for the care shown to Richard.
