Richard Ellis Jackson

Richard Ellis ?Dick? Jackson, 83, of Orange, died Friday, June 16, 2007 in Coto De Caza, CA.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2007, at First United Methodist Church in Orange, under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at First United Methodist Church in Orange.

Mr. Jackson was born on December 5, 1923, in Humble, Texas, the son of Walter Scott and Emma Rose Ellis Jackson. He moved to Orange at the age of four. He served in the United States Marine Corp. during WWII as a fighter pilot and was honorably discharged as a captain. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in mechanical engineering and went to work for DuPont, where her worked for 37 years until retirement. He spent most of his career at Sabine River Works in Orange and served as its plant manager for a number of years. Mr. Jackson was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and was active in the community.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Middleton Jackson.

He is survived by his son Richard Ellis Jackson Jr.; daughter in law, Nylda Marie Jackson; and grandchildren, Brian, Blair, Doniel, and Erica Jackson.

Rick: Sincerest sympathy. Our prayers are with you and family. My Dad in recent years recounted his fond memories of his early days in Orange when Dick and he were newly employed batchelor engineers with duPont.
