Richard Eugene Chapman, 73, of Orange, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange.

Burial will follow at The Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Richard was born April 13, 1935, to Leslie and Cora Whittle Chapman.

Richard served in the US Army for 6 years and was a carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his son Richard Anthony Chapman and sister Joyce Chapman Wood.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Margaret Chapman, daughters, Cheryl Duhon and husband Richard, Kim Roberts and husband Allen. His brothers, Thomas Chapman, Freddie Chapman, John Chapman and Wayne Chapman. His sisters, Kathy Welch, Margaret Credeur and Linda Patronella; granddaughters and their spouses Brandi and Mike Miller, Kristi Burr, Jill and Chris White, Risa and Colby Nelms, Tammi Roberts, Valeri Roberts and grandson Hunter Duhon; great grandchildren, Skyler Authement, Erica Burr, Brice Authement and Adrian Roberts.

Serving as pallbearers will be EJ McKay, Cade McKay, Ethan McKay, Colby Nelms, Hunter Duhon and Mike Miller.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Texas Home Health of Beaumont for their compassion and support given to Richard. The family would also like to thank the doctors and staff of Howard Williams for their life-long support to the well being and health of Richard.
