Richard L. Turner

Richard L. Turner, 86, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Orange.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera, TX. Reverend Martin Smith of Bandera Church of Christ will officiate. Interment will follow at Bandera Cemetery in Bandera, TX.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Richard was born February 3, 1922, in Ranger, TX, to Harry Alan and Sara Katherine Williams Turner.

Richard served in the US Army Air Corps. and is a WWII Veteran.

He worked as an instrument mechanic and foreman at DuPont Sabine River Works.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Sara Turner, three sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lila Genevieve Turner, children, Richard Paul Turner and wife Falba of Austin, Robert Alan Turner and wife Kathy of Kirbyville, Leslie Grace Lindsey and husband Keith of Orange, Preston Joseph Turner and wife Paige of Mauriceville; grandchildren, Emily Turner Landry, Robin Turner Watson, Grace Turner Spell, Amy Lindsey Bates, P.J. Turner, Richard Lindsey, Leslie Turner, Tana Turner and Shelley Turner; great grandchildren, Katherine Watson, Bailey Turner, Jenna Watson and Sophie Spell.

Serving as pallbearers will be P. J. Turner, Richard Lindsey, Corey Spell and Andrew Bates.
