Richard Allen Babington

Richard Allen Babington, 55, of Bridge City, died Saturday, October 16, 2010, at his residence.

A memorial service will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City with Deacon Eddie Blankenstein officiating.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Born on December 3, 1954, Richard was the son of Richard Lawrence Babington and Barbara Jean Crawford LaGrappe. He served in the U.S. Marines and was an insulator for the construction industry.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lawrence Babington and grandparents, Ila Rene and George Allen Crawford, and Lawrence and Ethel Babington.

Richard is survived by his mother and step-father, Barbara and Numa Joe LaGrappe of Bridge City; four children, Riki Babington, Jr. and his wife, Crystal of Austin, Amy Babington and her fiancé, Josh Cheatwood of Orange, Ila Jean Perry and her husband, Robert of Ft. Stewart, Georgia, and David Babington and his wife, Rebecca of Jacksonville, Florida.

He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, Presley, Jack, Barbara and Kimberly Babington, Alana and Robert Perry, David Babington, Jr., Dalton, Chastanee and Chace Vercher; brother, Doug Babington of San Diego, California; three sisters and their husbands, Debra and Russell Gauthier, Brenda and Wayne McPherson all of Bridge City, and Linda and Louis Juneau of Orangefield; and many nieces and nephews.

You will be missed Richie. I remember all the fun you had with your creatures that you kept in jars in your room. Particularly the ones you chased us with. I was saddened to hear about Richards passing, though I have not seen him since the late 70's. I still considered him a friend. May God Comfort his Family during this time of grief,and bless them as they carry on their lives.##imported-begin##Alan Huggins##imported-end##
