Robert Arland Johnnie, Sr.

Robert Arland Johnnie, Sr., 77, of Orange, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Kindred Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be 10am, Friday, March 8, 2013, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm, Thursday, at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 6pm.

Born in Orange, Texas, on January 24, 1936, Robert was the son of Vernon Alton Johnnie, Sr. and Juanita Granger Johnnie. He worked as a mechanic for RSC.

Robert was preceded in death by his sons-in-law, Keith Flowers, Jerry Gould; brother, Charles Johnnie; and sister, Dale Johnnie Shalisha.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Otey Johnnie; sons, Robert Arland Johnnie, Jr. and wife, Angelina of Port Acres, Ricky L. Johnnie of Houston; daughters, Peggy Sue Johnnie Flowers of Orangefield, Sherry Johnnie Gould, Kathlee Johnnie Frederick and husband, Laurel of Little Cypress; grandchildren, Penny Dean, James Johnnie, Jessica Johnnie, Jerica Washburn, Kayla Turner, Kandis Hodgkinson, Kelly Sims, Rocky LeBrun, Gary Smith, Johnathon Longmire, Justin Longmire, Jeremiah Gould, Richard Gould; great-grandchildren, Katherine "Katie-Bug" Dean, Koby Dean, Maddie Turner, Haley Powell, Zane Smith, Devin Gould, Jacelyn Gould; brothers, Vernon Johnnie, Jr., C.C. Johnnie; and sisters, Neda Faye Breaux and Sylivia Baurd.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Johnnie, P.J. Turner, Lowell Frederick, Chris Washburn, Richard Gould, Clint Hodgkinson, Ty Johnnie, and Justin Longmire. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Smith, Jr., Rocky LeBrun, Jr. and Dennis Lavergne.
