Obituary

Robert “Bob” Wilson Sutton, Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and respected member of his community, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Sabine Tabernacle in Beaumont, Texas. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Sabine Tabernacle in Beaumont.

Born on December 28, 1943, in Woodville, Texas, Bob was the only son of Robert Wilson Sutton, Sr. and Violene Worthey Sutton. He earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Lamar University, and his professional life was marked by over 55 years of dedicated service in Oil, Gas, and Mineral Operations.

On July 22, 1967, Bob married the love of his life, Brenda Rae Senters. Together, they built a beautiful life, celebrating 59 years of marriage filled with unwavering love and partnership. Their union was blessed with two children: Robert Sutton III and Amy McCullough.

A lifelong and faithful member of Sabine Tabernacle, Bob served as an Elder, providing spiritual guidance and leadership to his church family. His commitment to his faith extended to the church's youth, as he and Brenda lovingly led the Youth Group for three decades, impacting countless young lives. He also held a special place in the church's history as its first-ever drummer, a role he embraced and performed with passion for decades. Beyond his professional and spiritual life, Bob was a gifted golfer, enjoying many hours on the greens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wilson Sutton, Sr. and Violene Worthey Sutton.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Brenda Rae Senters Sutton; his children, Robert Sutton III (Nan) and Amy McCullough (Josh); his grandchildren, Jamison McCullough and Matthew Broussard; and numerous cousins.

Pallbearers will be Todd Senters, Scott Hilton, Wesley Worthey, Tim Worthey, Alan Worthey, and Glenn Worthey.

Honorary Pallbearers will be David Monk and Richard Worthey.
