Robert “Joe” Vickers

Joe Vickers, 83, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on November 2, 2023, in Beaumont.

Born in Uvalde, Texas, on February 13, 1940, he was the son of Fred Eason Vickers and Melba Jane (Davis) Vickers. Joe was a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all of his heart. He was a faithful and loving husband as well being a wonderful father to his two girls. Joe honorably served in the United States Navy on the USS Hornet. He will be dearly missed, but his family is celebrating his life knowing that he is now in the arms of Jesus.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Melba Vickers; and his brothers, Fred Ray Vickers and William Gene Vickers.

Those left to cherish Joe’s memory include his loving wife, Elizabeth Vickers; his daughters, Bonnie Jo Vickers and Melinda Sue Cornish; grandsons, Zachary David Cross and Colton Michael Cornish; and his brother, Roy Glenn Vickers; along with numerous other loving family and friends.

Following Joe’s wishes, cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.

I remember you Uncle Joe who always was friendly and caring. He had a sense of humor and could make you laugh. He worried about his family a lot and was a great dad. He lived Jesus and is now in heaven with Roger and Joann and my brother David. I am his neice Sharon Hill Grice. Rest in heaven Uncle Joe! LOVE YOU!
