Ronald Wayne Wilkinson, 56, of Mauriceville, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008, in Louisiana .

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Community Church in Orange , with Reverend David Berkheimer, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Wilkinson Cemetery with military rites provided by Southeast Texas Veteran Service Group.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the temporary location of Claybar Funeral Home, 1408 W. Park Ave. , the former Park Ave. United Methodist Church building.

Born in Orange on August 12, 1952, Ronald worked in the air craft business for 30 years and he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He always believed in working hard for his family and was an air craft inspector for Northrop Grumman.

Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Mary L. Nini; father, C.T. "Bud" Wilkinson; and brother, Michael Wilkinson.

He loved his family very much and they always came first. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Wilkinson of Mauriceville; daughters, Monica Ratcliff and her husband, Glenn, of Saratoga , Angela Wilkinson and Rhonda Wilkinson, both of Orange , Amber Amos of Mauriceville; sons, Lesley Joseph Amos of Orange , Mark Wilkinson and his wife, Heather, of Mauriceville.

Also surviving are his grandchildren, Gabriel Ratcliff, Kaylei Comeaux, Sierra McAbee, Ethan Wilkinson, Kyden Wilkinson; sisters, Debbie, Patti and Angie; brother, John; sister-in-law, Shirley Wilkinson; sister-in-law, Shay Francis and husband, Lee; brothers-in-law, Russell Amos and wife, Sherri and Lesley H. Amos; stepmom, Joyce Wilkinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

I worked with Ron on 2nd shift at Northrop Grumman. He was a great man and always did his best at everything he did. He talked to me frequently about his Navy career and we shared stories.
