Ronald "Ronnie" Wane Strahan

Ronald "Ronnie" Wane Strahan, 67, of Orange, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Joseph P. Daleo of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on October 17, 1945, Ronnie was the son of Lester Wane and Marie Lognion Strahan. He graduated from Northeast Louisiana University, now known as University of Louisiana at Monroe, where he played baseball. He was an ardent fan of LSU. He worked as a pharmacist at Scholars, and was a longtime member of the Orange Boat Club where he served as commodore for 9 years. He enjoyed doing for others and was very generous and selfless.

Preceded in death by his parents, Ronnie is survived by his wife of 36 years, Debra Russell Strahan; and daughter, Tara Strahan Devilbiss and husband Ramsey Devilbiss of Austin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Development Office, MC 3-117, PO Box 20345, Houston, TX 77225-0345.
