Ruby McClelland of Mauriceville died Monday, October 13, 2008, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont after a month long illness. Family and friends will be received beginning at 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2008, with the funeral on Saturday, October18, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. Both will be held at the temporary location of Claybar Funeral Home at 1408 W Park Avenue in Orange.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 'R.P.' Rufus Preston McClelland Jr. and her parents, Leonard "LL" and Stella Vardeman Boatman of Nacogdoches, Texas.

Ruby was a life long member of the First Baptist Church of Mauriceville, Texas and was a member of the American Bridge Retirees. She was a homemaker and mother of Shelia, Rickey, and Debbie. Ruby had seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Ruby is survived by sisters Nell Rumley and Pat Blacksher, both of Nacogdoches. She was preceded in death by siblings Kathleen Fargo of Houston, Mack Boatman Langston Boatman of Houston.
