Ruth Brittain

Ruth Brittain, 60, lifelong resident of Orange died Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Dubuis Hospital of Beaumont.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Reverend John Branham of the First Church of the Nazarene in Nacogdoches will officiate. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brittain was born January 24, 1947 in Owensburg, KY to Silas Dean and Ida Crydus Oakley Atkeson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Church of the Nazarene in Port Arthur. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles and attending her bible study. Her joy in life was being with her family and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers and one sister.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, Lester O. and Lisa Brittain of Nederland, Dean and Telisa Brittain of Orange and Terrell E. and Robyn Brittain of Nederland; eight grandchildren, Dreamie, Amanda, Andrew, Justin, Lane, Nikki, Terrilyn and Rayne and her sister, Beckie Byrd of Livingston.

To family of Brittain, I do really miss to chat with Ruth so I know she is too much painful for long time and now she is with her angels. She will be watching over you all. I am so happy to have Terrell to be my son in law so I want to be with you all ##imported-begin##Barbara Duve##imported-end##
