Ruth "Mickie" Cox

Ruth "Mickie" Cox, 87, of Orange, died Friday, February 26, 2010, at The Meadows in Orange.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Scott McIntosh, pastor of North Orange Baptisit Church.

Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in the McLewis Community.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Born in Sour Lake on August 11, 1922, Mrs. Cox was the daughter of Clifton Morris and Ollie Frances Alton O'Banion.

She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Orange.

Preceded in death by her husband, William D. Cox; brothers, Clifton M. O'Banion, Jr., Richard W. O'Banion; and sister, Mary Ellen Flynt, Mrs. Cox is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Steve Jones; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald W. and Pam Cox, all of Orange; brother and sister-in-law, John H. and Maebeth O'Banion of Huntsville; and sister-in-law, Anne O'Banion of Port Neches.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, Reid W. Cox, Randi Garza and her husband Eric, all of Houston, Terri M. Ballenger and her husband Tommy, of Beaumont, Natalie Thompson of Orange, Teresa Tangorra and her husband Mike, of Austin; and great grandchildren, Cody, Reese, Anthony, Avery, Jake, Jersi and Tommy, IV.

Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Jones, Marc Howeth, Mike Broussard, Lynn Arceneaux, Mike Zeto and Harold Hass.

Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews and Jerry Howeth.

Ronnie and Kay, I want to share my deepest sympathy with you for the loss of your mother.
