Ruth Ann James, 79, of Orange, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at her home.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with Reverend David Burkheimer officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Cremation will follow under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory in Bridge City.

Born in Camden, New Jersey on August 4, 1930, Mrs. James was the daughter of Elmer Adam Downs and Wilhelmina Eberhard Downs. She worked as a school teacher for the Little Cypress School District.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward V. James, Jr.; and son, Earl A. James.

Mrs. James is survived by her son, Eddy James, III and his wife, Rosetta of the Philippines; son, Bobby James and his wife, Connie of Orange; and daughter, Susan Hart and her husband, Don of Houston.

She is also survived by her seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
