Sadie Ruth Forston

Sadie Ruth Forston, 68, of Orange, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at Golden Years.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 20, 2009 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Lynn Ashcraft.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.

Sadie was born on November 9, 1940 in Orange. She is the daughter of James Edward and Rita Verna DeVillier Harris. She was affectionately called "Granny" by everyone. She worked as a kindergarten teacher in the West Orange School District and was a member of North Orange Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Verna Harris; husband, Dennis Forston; and brother, Ronnie Harris.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters and sons-in-law, Toni and Jack Marquardt of Flower Mound, Tammy and Michael Davis of Vidor, and Kim and Patrick Lyons of Orange; grandchildren, Grace and Will Marquardt, Loretta and Josie Baker, Lacey, Mallory, and Eli Lyons; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Ronda Harris of Georgetown, Kenneth "Butch" and Doris Harris of Bridge City, and Billy and Ellie Harris of Orange.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Carol Campbell and the staff of Odyssey Hospice and Jean, Felicia, Janie, and the staff of Golden Years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PO Box 4527 New York, NY 10163.
