Sam W. Boaze III

1945 ∼ 2014

Sam Whitfield Boaze III, 68, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in his home in Beaumont, TX. Sam was born July 1, 1945 to Sam W. Boaze Jr and Rebecca W. Boaze.

He graduated from Beaumont High School and from Lamar University. Sam served in the US Army with distinction as a helicopter pilot where he received the Purple Heart Award and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He had many Air Medals and unit citations as well.

Sam is survived by his wife, Marcia Armstrong Boaze; his parents, Sam and Becky Boaze and his sister, Carol B. Snowden and her husband, Eddie.

A memorial service honoring Sam’s life will be held Saturday, June 28 at 2:00 PM at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home Chapel on 11th St. in Beaumont.

Never got to meet you or your family but was proud that you and your father served in the military and were both pilots. Funny that I was also prior Army, flew helicopters and planes. Guess it was in my DNA. I had just drove through Beaumont, TX a few days before I found out who you and your family were. May you RIP and know that I grew up in a good family and had a great life.
