Sarah Ann Jannise

1962 ∼ 2017

Sarah Ann Hood Jannise, 55, of Beaumont passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on July 3, 2017, due to health complications. She was born to Sarah Grace Baker Hood and Loyd Thomas Hood of Beaumont, Texas, on May 4th, 1962. Sarah went to Hardin Jefferson ISD, where she met her High School sweetheart, Dalbert Eugene Jannise and married him in 1981. They had two children together, Dale (32) and Ashleigh (28) before they divorced.

Sarah moved to California for a couple of years, where she developed several lifelong friendships. She loved keeping in touch with Eniko and Jill when she moved back to Texas. She was able to see so much in California and was so content living in a different part of the US; however, the love of her grandbabies pulled her home to Texas.

In her spare time, Sarah loved to write. She was a natural born writer. Growing up, she dreamed of writing a best-selling novel. She may not have ever gotten that official title, but the letters that she would write and send won that award from their recipients. She wrote letters to everyone she was close to and also enjoyed rescuing any animal she could put her hands on. She had two kittens that she was taking care of at the time of her passing. She enjoyed texting her Aunt Dora and her daughter, Doreen. She enjoyed sitting up late and chatting with her best friend, Beth, and son, Shelby. Sarah messaged each of her kids and their spouses every single morning, “g’morning, I love you.” This is what she did every morning, without fail. Sarah couldn’t afford much, but what she could give you, was her words, whether it be text, email, voicemail, or snail mail (which was her favorite). Anyone that knew her will miss this the most, besides that “WORLD FAMOUS ONE AND ONLY AMAZING” French toast that she made. Sarah would give you the shirt off her back, even if she was naked and would make a dollar stretch an entire month. Everything is sentimental to her and that's what makes her so special.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Grace Baker Hood and Loyd Thomas Hood. She is survived by her son, Dalbert “DALE” Loyd Jannise, his wife, Tamara Jannise, and her daughter, Ashleigh Sara Jannise, and her fiance’, Brent McDonald, as well as her five grandchildren, Emma Renee Jannise, Abby Rose Marie Jannise, Braeden Joseph Jannise, Reagan Charley Jannise, and Peyton Tanner Jannise.

A celebration of her life is being held at the Claybar Funeral Home, at 1155 N. 11th St., Beaumont, TX 77702, on Friday, July 7, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm, but visitation will extend beyond service, led by Sarah’s cousin, Pastor John Wisener, from Pittsburg, TX. Family will begin gathering at 3:00 pm.

Sarah’s journey through life isn’t over. She will carry on in each of her children and grandchildren in one way or the other, in her blue suede shoes. Her final trip will be with the ones she loved the most to Graceland, where she wanted to visit the most when she was on this earth.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Sarah's name to the funeral home to help cover this unexpected funeral cost.

Sarah was one of the kindest people I have ever known. Her love for her children was apparent in her words and deeds. The Grandbabies were the light in her world. She loved them all to the moon and back! I will miss my friend and our late night talks or sitting on the porch enjoying the breeze as we watch the hummingbirds. Rest In Peace sweet Lady.
