Scott Davis Ricks

Scott Davis Ricks passed away from this life on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the age of 59. Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm, Tuesday, December 22, 2009 with funeral services at 1pm, Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Claybar Funeral Home, 800 Highland Drive in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Syd Thorne. Burial will follow burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens directly thereafter.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Bess "BeBe" Ricks.

He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Ricks of Houston and Nicole Ricks of Houston; father, Clyde "Cappy" Ricks of Bridge City; brother, Ronald C. Ricks and wife, Barbara, of Goshen, Kentucky; sister, Lynanne Goodwin and husband, Albert, of Mauriceville; two nephews; three nieces; one granddaughter; three great-nieces; and four great-nephews, along with many loving family members and friends.

Throughout his life, Scott devoted himself to his two daughters with amazing dedication and love. A graduate from Lamar University, Scott was a sports enthusiast who loved to play a round of golf, sip coffee while reading the morning paper, and visit with family and friends. He was a generous and caring man, with a heart the size of Texas who will be sorely missed.
