Shirley Ann Jones Dickerson, 74, of Orange, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at her home.

A memorial gathering will be from 6pm to 8pm, Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory.

Shirley Ann Jones Dickerson was born to the late Rodger and Edna Jones on March 28, 1938, in Ballinger, Texas. She was a resident of Orange, Texas for 47 years and was married to Clyde F. Dickerson. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Deanna Dickerson Burkhart; two grandchildren, Jamie Doran and Kyle Burkhart; and one great granddaughter, Paige Doran; also several nieces and nephews. Shirley worked for Davis Cooper reality from 1971 until 1976 in Orange, and then opened her own real estate company, Shirley Dickerson Realty, until her death. She was known as "The Land Lady". In her extra time Shirley and Elizabeth Poutray set up estate sales for different families in the Orange area. She worked the gate at the "Tin Top Area" in Mauriceville for 12 years and she served on the first board of Orange County Appraisal District Board. Shirley was one of the first adults to help start the LCM Rodeo Club and for 26 years, she would greet you at the Texas Longhorn Club in Orange and Vinton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 550 Fannin Street, Beaumont, Texas 77701.

Sorry to hear of Shirley passing. Knew her in school,in Ballinger, Tx. Saw her last at a class reunion. My memories of her was her sweet smile and personality.
