Shirley Falcon Brown

1929 ∼ 2023

Shirley Falcon Brown passed away on March 14, at her residence in Frisco, Texas. She was 93 years old. Shirley was born to Sam and Melba Falcon on September 22, 1929, in Beaumont, Texas. She was married to the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Zack Brown, for 60 years. Shirley was a devoted Catholic and longtime member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Growing up in Beaumont, Shirley attended French Elementary and French High School. She graduated in 1946. After graduation, she worked for Sun Oil and attended Lamar College. Once she had her children, Shirley stayed home to raise them until they were in school, at which time she went back to college to finish her degree in education. She taught at French Elementary for 20 years. Her son, Kirk, followed in her footsteps and taught in the elementary schools.

In 2017, Shirley moved to Frisco, Texas to be close to her daughter. She lived in an independent living facility where she quickly made friends. To know Shirley, was to love her. She never met a stranger, and everyone she met loved her sweet, outgoing personality. Shirley always loved children, and children adored her, in turn. So many looked at Shirley as an adopted grandmother. She was so caring, and always loved hearing what the children of family and friends were up to and celebrated their accomplishments.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Kirk; her sister, Jackie Neff and brother, Harold “Dickie” Falcon. She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Brown; longtime family friend, Linda Ayers; nieces, Deborah Taylor and husband, Craig, Melissa Eurick, Kathleen Phillips and husband Ronnie; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I just saw the obituary for Shirley. I worked at Collier Park in Beaumont when Shirley was a resident there. We had so much fun together, along with her best friend, Melba Jenkins. Shirley had a wonderful sense of humor. Residents & employees loved Shirley and we were sad to see her move away. Sending condolences to Lynn. RIP, Shirley.

Although I didn't know her personally but,I worked with her son Kirk. The stories that I heard about her were awesome. Kirk was a great man and in order for him to be great he had to have great parents. We worked together at Dishman. My last name is Brown. We had another faculty member named with the last name Brown. We would tell the kiddos we were triplets. Finally one day a student asked me how can u three be triplets? She said the other two are white and u are black. That was a joke between us Brown's at Dishman. My prayers are for the Brown and Falcon family

Though sadly I only met Mrs. Brown one time she was friendly and sweet. I heard all the stories of her zest for life and quickly having the ability to acquire friends. Everyone who met her was inspired with her love and caring ways. God bless you Shirley may you rest in peace with your loved ones. Until we all met again! Sandi Perry~
