Sidney George Dronett, 49, passed away, Friday, April 26, 2013 in Orangefield.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with his brother, Dr. Billy Puckett, Jr officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Sidney was born November 12, 1963 in New Castle, Australia to James Dronett and Mary Puckett but lived most of his life in Orangefield, where he graduated high school in 1982. His passion was sports, whether he was playing or coaching. He was currently serving on the board of Orange Youth Baseball and Softball league and for the past several years, he took great pride in coaching his son and all of the Astros, leading them to AllStars. Above everything, Sidney loved spending time with his children. He was a loving dad and son.
He is survived by his parents, Billy and Mary Puckett of Orange; father, J.D. Dronett of Cali, Colombia; his children, Shelby Dale, Seth and Saylor who were the loves of his life and the mother of his children, Joey Dale. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Billy Puckett, Jr. and wife, Katy; nephews, John William and Jack; sister, Lorena Dronett of Columbia; brother, Dennis Dronett of Florida; aunt and Godmother, Dorothy Dargis; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, many loved ones in Greece, friends and the Pony Division Astros players and coaches.
