Steve Spradling

Stephen Richard Spradling passed away on Friday, November 5, 2010.

Our son was born looking very much like his beautiful mother, Margaret. He also inherited her very strong mental abilities.

Steve graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in 1971 and continued his education at Lamar University in Beaumont from 1971 until 1973. He worked at his father's business, Sprad's Boat Town. He loved animals and had every pet from a raccoon to a pet cougar. Steve enjoyed all water sports including water skiing, boat riding and skin diving and was a champion in barefoot water skiing. He was also a gourmet cook and enjoyed cooking for his friends.

Steve is survived by his parents, who were high school sweethearts, Hubert "Sprad" and Margaret Spradling of Orange; sisters, Jessica "Cyndi" Spradling Barrilleaux of Sebastopol, California and Shari Spradling of Orange.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clark and Edna Barrett and Charles and Ila Mae Spradling.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, November 8, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 in the chapel of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

I considered Steve one of my best friends. We spent a lot of time together on and off the waters of Orange County. I bought all my boats from Steve because he not only was the expert but was passionate about the business. I will miss him and pray that God##imported-begin##Dutch Price##imported-end##
