Thomas Ansyl Oliver, Jr.

Thomas Ansyl Oliver, Jr., 75, of Houston, formerly of Orange, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at his residence.

A Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Community Church in Orange. Reverend David Berkheimer will officiate.

Family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, prior to service.

Thomas was born August 9, 1932, in Crescent, OK, to Thomas Ansyl and Hallie Vaden Longpine Oliver.

Thomas served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Community Church in Orange from 1981 to 2006. He was a founding partner of Superior Tire Company and was the inventor of the Pet Mobile.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Hallie Oliver.

He is survived by his wife Becky Oliver, children, Stan Cromartie and wife Tammy of League City, Shawnda Blanda and husband Kenny of Beaumont, Carrie Bryant and husband Casey of Houston, Mitch Oliver and wife Susan of Bartlesville, OK and Angie Scanlon and husband Jay of Farmington, NY; grandchildren, Chase, Ty, Brooke and Trey Cromartie, Elyse and Bekah Blanda, Riley Bryant, Jason, Jeff and Kim Oliver; and sister, Sharon Dixon and husband Dick of Charlotte, NC.

For those who wish to make memorial contributions, they may be made to American Heart Association or Community Church of Orange.

Becky, Stan, Shawnda and Carrie, What a wonderful tribute to Tom. I so remember him sitting in that leather chair. He was such a good person with strong christian beliefs.
