Thomas Douglas Kennedy

Thomas ?Tom? Douglas Kennedy II, 61, of Orange, died October 19, 2007.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Reverend Michael Strother of St. Francis of Assisi will officiate.

Cremation will follow under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at Claybar Funeral Home.

Tom was born on October 3, 1946, in Corpus Christi. He was the son of Thomas Douglas and Josphine Rodgers Kennedy. He earned a bachelors degree from Lamar in mechanical engineering. After 35 years with DuPont he retired as Technical Associate. During his time with DuPont he directed several international projects. He was a member of the Orange Boat Club and the Orange County Master Gardeners. Tom enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was very creative and talented with his hands. Tom was devoted to his family, friends and community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Josphine Kennedy.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Kennedy of Mauriceville; daughter and son-in-law, Colleen Schlosser and Steve of Houston; son, Douglas Kennedy of Houston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Helen Boone and Peter of Austin, Martha Kennedy and Ross Citi of Clear Lake, Frances Kennedy and John Hubbard of Clemson, SC; brother-in-law, Richard Findley and Lyn of Billings, MT; mother-in-law, Virginia Findley Connell of Bandera, TX; and ten nieces and nephews.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are the Orange County Master Gardeners.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one?s choice.
