Thomas Gaston Pitts

Thomas Gaston Pitts, 84, of Lumberton, TX, passed away November 27, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Thomas, or "TG" as he was known to some, was born April, 22, 1926 in Nacogdoches, TX to Levi Miah and Maggie Mae Collins Pitts.

A Veteran of the Mounted Cavalry, a branch of the United States Army, Thomas served in Burma with the Merrill's Marauders Unit in what is known as WWII's Forgotten Theater.

Surviving Thomas are his son Thomas Edward Pitts; his step-children Elvis Metz and Theresa Turner; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters, Marvis Nix, Betty Wendling and Beverly Henderson.

Services will be December 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel with visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Beverly, Marvis, Betty: Was saddened to hear of our loss. I always enjoyed visiting with Gaston. He helped make the family reunions we had up at Livingston. It is always good to hear from family. I don't enjoy this kind of news. But I reckon we are ge##imported-begin##John P Baker##imported-end##
