Thomas E. Leonard, 62, of Beaumont, passed away on June 18, 2019.

A memorial gathering in Thomas’ memory will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, on April 14, 1957, he was the son of Joseph Vincent Leonard and Mary Alice (Hutcheson) Leonard. Thomas was a huge NASCAR fan, especially a Dale Earnhart fan, until Dale’s death, Thomas then became an avid Jimmy Johnson fan, football enthusiast, and sports lover. The 49ers and Texans always held a special place in his heart. Although Thomas was never known to say much, he adored his life and everyone who played a part in it, especially his dog, Bandit. He will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, and a caring grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all those who had a chance to know him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Leonard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Jana Leonard; son, James Leonard and wife Christina of Atascocita; grandchildren, Shepherd and Kensington Leonard; and siblings, Jim Leonard and wife Loretta of San Antonio, and Debbie Richardson and husband JC of Nederland; along with several nieces and nephews.
