It is with profound sadness and loving hearts that we announce the passing of Tomasa Perez Yañez, who departed this life on May 15, 2026, in Beaumont, TX. Born on January 5, 1945, in Mexico, Tomasa lived a life filled with warmth, joy, and unwavering devotion.

Tomasa was a truly humble, loving, and selfless soul. She was a ray of sunshine to everyone in her presence, always happy and smiling, and her grateful spirit embraced life to the fullest. She possessed an extraordinary capacity to put everyone before herself, demonstrating an accepting and nonjudgmental heart that loved all. Tomasa was a strong and the most beautiful in all the world that found joy in the simple pleasures, like tending to her beloved plants. Her passion for music was so profound that she married a musician, and she often filled her home with singing, dancing, and whistling. A devout Catholic, Tomasa held a deep and abiding faith in the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús.

Tomasa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Teodoro Gomez Ramirez; her parents, Pascual Perez and Margarita Yañez; her cherished daughter, Guadalupe Cortez Yañez; and her siblings, Josefina Hernandez Yañez, Elvira Perez Yañez, Salvador Sanchez Yañez, Gabriel Garcia Yañez, and Ceferino Hernandez Yañez.

She leaves behind a legacy of love carried on by her devoted children: Agustin Cortez Yañez and wife Maria Emilia Villa Hernandez, Marivel Gomez Yañez and husband Luis Alberto Sanchez, Ignacio Gomez Yañez, Blanca Estela Gomez Perez, Francisca Gomez Perez and husband Luis Manuel Galvan Mora, Josefina Gomez Perez and husband Jesse Cottle, Graciela Gomez Yañez and husband Christopher Forse, Maria Elvira Gomez Perez and husband Joaquin Reyes Nava, and Maria Anayeli Gomez Perez and husband Nathaniel Keener.

Tomasa was also loving Grandmother to Alondra Gomez, Eden Gomez, Albert Rodriguez, Luna Briseño, Mercurio Gomez, David Gomez, Helen Juliette Gomez, Sergio Ignacio Gomez, Antonio Agustin Gonzalez , Paulette Galvan Gomez, Dianne Galvan Gomez , Regina Galvan Gomez , Isabella Skyler Cottle, Michael Santiago Keener Gomez, Analucia Eileen Keener Gomez, Jair Joaquín Reyes Gomez, Naomi de Jesus Reyes Gomez, Alexander Jacob Reyes Gomez, Azucena Cortez, Maria Dolores Ortega, Maria Guadalupe Torres, Carlos Cortez, Salvador Cortez, great-grandmother to Aliriya Astoria Rodriguez, Kaylani Mirabella Luz Rodriguez, Fernando Torres, Heriberto Ortega , Monzerat Torres, Sebastian Torres, Balerie Cortez, Elias Torres, Isaias Ortega, Vanesa Cortez, and Rafael Torres.

She is also survived by her siblings, Juliana Hernandez Yañez, Natividad Hernandez Yañez, and Vicente Hernandez Yañez.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at LaBrie Claybar Funeral Services in Beaumont, Texas. Officiating will be Deacon Hector Maldonado of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange, Texas. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas.

Visitation time will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:00 am, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at LaBrie Claybar Funeral Services with a recitation of the Rosary to begin at 10:00 am.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nathaniel Keener, Christopher Forse, Eden Gaytan, Jesse Cottle, Albert Rodriguez, Mercurio Gomez, Antonio Gonzalez, Sergio Gomez, and David Gomez.

Tomasa's radiant spirit and boundless love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Con profunda tristeza y con corazones llenos de amor anunciamos el fallecimiento de Tomasa Perez Yañez, quien partió de esta vida el 15 de mayo de 2026, en Beaumont, TX. Nacida el 5 de enero de 1945 en México, Tomasa vivió una vida llena de calidez, alegría y devoción inquebrantable.

Tomasa fue una persona verdaderamente humilde, amorosa y desinteresada. Era un rayo de sol para todos los que estaban en su presencia, siempre feliz y sonriendo, y su espíritu agradecido abrazaba la vida al máximo. Poseía una extraordinaria capacidad de poner a todos antes que a sí misma, demostrando un corazón comprensivo y libre de prejuicios que amaba a todos.
