Tommy Dixon

Tommy Dixon, 77, of Orange, Texas died Friday, April 23, 2010, at Christus Dubuis Hospital in Port Arthur.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Elder Bob Williamson of Jehovah's Witness–Orange Oak. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.

Born in Natalbany, Louisiana on January 12, 1933, Tommy was the son of Charles Clarence Dixon and Kitty Lou Hughes Dixon. He served in the United States Air Force and retired after 32 years as the Director of Operations at Bridge City Independent School District.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Kitty Lou; son, Charles Dixon; and brother, Bill Dixon.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Mary Dixon; son, Vernon Dixon of Bridge City; sons and daughters-in-laws, Sherby and Cil Dixon of Orange, Thomas and Margaret Dixon also of Orange; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Robert Miller of Marshall; grandchildren, Tish Curl, Desi Theriot, Maegan Dixon, Todd Dixon, Michelle Dixon, Derek Dixon, and Taylor Davis; sister, Allie "Sis" Rush; and brothers, John Dixon, Oscar Dixon, and Nelson Dixon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tommy's name to the Bridge City Public Library.
