Trudy Elizabeth Walker

Trudy Elizabeth Walker, 91, of Orange passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Keith Meyer, pastor of Old First Orange Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home in Orange.

Born in Orange on January 28, 1921, Trudy was the daughter of Virgil P. Walker and Bell Stanton Walker. She served in the U.S. Army W.A.C., was a lifelong member of Old First Orange Baptist Church and co-taught the Ruth Sunday School class. She worked for Southwestern Bell for 33 years and was a member of the Vidor Azalea Garden Club. Trudy enjoyed fishing, camping, crocheting, embroidery, and porcelain painting. Trudy loved to take care of others, her church family, and especially enjoyed gathering with friends and family.

Preceded in death by her parents, Trudy is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and John Holcomb; niece, Bell Jackson and husband, Dennis; nephew, Jeff Holcomb and wife, Sarah; five great-nieces and nephews, Wesley Troxell, Katie Devine, Priscilla Jackson, Nicole Kendrick, Natalie Holcomb, and respective spouses; great great-nephews, Caleb Remedies, Conner Kendrick, and one on the way; and great great-niece, Katelyn Devine.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Wesley Troxell, Jeff Holcomb, John Holcomb, Ron Burton, Dennis Jackson and Billy Plasket.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Old First Orange Baptist Church, 7925 I-10 East, Orange, Texas 77630-8365.

Trudy was a true blessing to all that knew her...I worked with her at SWB in the late 70's and early 80's...always happy...then years later I remarried and found that my current MNL Opal Bartley were very close friends...two great people...Trudy will be g##imported-begin##Holly Brady Bartley##imported-end##
