Victoria Jo Enmon, 15, of Little Cypress, passed away Monday, January 21, 2008, at Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston following a lengthy battle with Leukemia.

Reverend Carroll Jones of Spann Chapel in Center will officiate.

Victoria loved life! Her positive attitude and outlook was contagious to everyone who ever knew her! Her greatest desire was to one day go back to LCM highschool and spend time with her friends. Victoria was never without a smile or a kind word. It was her strength, her faith and her desire to win that captured the heart of so many. Victoria's story and her willingness to face her battle with dignity and determination made her a role model for those who knew her so well. Friends and family were very important to Victoria; she enjoyed spending time with both and always looked forward to the next visit or the next phone call. Not being the typical teenager, Victoria had to grow up fast and learn to handle things most kids never even think about. No matter what obstacle lay ahead, Victoria tackled it head on and never looked back.

Cheerleading and gymnastics were two things Victoria found important, and as in everything she did in life, she excelled in both. As a member of Horizon's Tumbling Team, Victoria traveled to the Jr. Olympics National Championship in Sacramento, California, during the summer of 2003.

Victoria was an Honor Roll student and an active member of Student Council.

Throughout her life, Victoria became active in the American Cancer Society. In 2005, Victoria was selected as a Relay for Life Texas Heroes of Hope for the state of Texas. She was a Page for Senator Tommy Williams in Austin and in January 2005, Victoria was honored at the Texas State Capital with House Resolution 125. As a spokesperson for Jiffy Lube and Papa John's Pizza, Victoria helped raise money for the Texas Childrens Hospital Cancer Center. Victoria was also featured on KKBQ FM 93 each year when they held their annual radio-thon with proceeds going to Texas Childrens Hospital Cancer Center as well. Victoria found great satisfaction in reaching out and helping others, especially the many friends she made during her stay at TCH.

Victoria loved her church as much as anything and found great comfort in being a member of North Orange Baptist Church. It was a thrill for her to participate in Youth activities as often as she could. Victoria's favorite verse became her source of peace, comfort and strength during her four year battle. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13. It was Victoria's faith that will remain her greatest legacy. For those who knew and loved Victoria, her vivacious spirit will live on in each of us.

Those surviving Victoria are her parents, Victor and Jo Ellen Enmon of Orange; brother, James Enmon II of Orange and his fiancé, Aimee Riley of Vidor; sister and brother-in-law, Christin and Justin Hommel of Houston and grandparents, James and Bobbie Enmon of Center and John and Margaret Sikes of Orange and great grandmother, Era B. Enmon of Center. She is also survived by her aunts, uncles and cousins, Elaine and Mike Jackson of Georgetown, their children, Jennifer Jackson of Temple, Adam, Elisha and McKenzie Jackson of Temple; Karen and Tim Heitman of Frisco, their children, John Stone and Samantha Stone of Frisco; Phillip Stone of Frisco; Kristi and Johnny Conn of Little Cypress and their children Leslie Conn and Shelly Conn, both of Little Cypress and her special friends, Sadie and Molly, Victoria's favorite pet dachshunds.

Victoria's parents would like to recognize the men who so graciously became Victoria's white cell donors as Honorary Pallbearers; Dereck Cloeren, Johnny Trahan, Joe Love, Deon Burnett, Dustin Greenwood, Tommy Gunn, Bobby Hommel, Troy Johnson, Dan Syphrett, Justin Hommel, Johnny Conn, Mike Jackson, James Enmon II, and Victor Enmon. It is their dedication and contributions that will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, Victoria's parents request you send donations to the North Orange Baptist Church; Victoria Enmon Youth Building Fund. Monies can be sent to 4775 North 16th Street, Orange, TX 77632.

Condolences
