Wanda D. Kendall, 58, died at her home in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange.

Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

Wanda was born on August 23, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Wanda and her husband owned Social Work Services and were well known in Beaumont and Orange for counseling for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Donald Parker, Sr. and Louise Parker.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Roger Kendall of Pendleton, South Carolina; aunt, Rene Brock; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Lori Parker of Orange; sons and daughters-in-law, Ryan and Rebecca Melancon of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Rhet and Rebecca Kendall of Austin; daughter, Megan Kendall of Beaumont; thirteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Wanda was a wonderful woman, therapist, and friend. I was lucky to meet her years ago and to grow closer to her as the years have past, she was there through my darkest moments and never gave up on me, even when I did.
