Wayland McGlaun

Wayland McGlaun, 77, of Angelton, Texas passed away on Janurary 31, 2015 at his residence.

A memorial visitation will be held from 3-5, Saturday, February 7, at Claybar Kelley Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.

Wayland was a former resident of Pinewood, Texas and he has lived in Angelton for the past 21 years. He was a retired safety engineer at Employers Insurance of Texas, and a United States Navy veteran.

He is survived by his daughters Kelly McGlaun, of Pinewood, Karen Christopher, of Houston, and Kristi McGlaun, of Kyle; 5 grandchildren; and 2 brothers.

Dearest McGlaun family, David and I are truly saddened by the loss of our dear sweet friend. He will truly be missed by the Higgins St. family of Angleton, Texas. To the family: I worked with Wayland at the Beaumont TEIA office for 16 years. We had a couple of great things in common...we both loved the SMU Ponies and Louis L'amour westerns. We would spend a lot of time talking about the Ponies and the Sacketts when we should have been working. He loved his girls. One story he told me was how one of his daughters would get jealous if the other was sitting to close to him for too long. I haven't seen Wayland since the office closing but have often thought of him and smiled. Please accept my heartfelt condolences at your loss.
