Wayne Gregory Parker

Wayne Gregory Parker, 88, of Bridge City passed away Friday, July 8, 2011, at Baptist Orange Hospital.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2011, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City with Reverend Bob Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home in Bridge City.

Born in Bonami, Louisiana on September 20, 1922, Wayne was the son of Gregory John Parker and Mae Price Parker. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was machinist for DuPont. Wayne was also a member of First Baptist Church in Bridge City.

Preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a sister, Wayne is survived by his wife, Lois Richardson Parker of Bridge City; son, Robert Wayne Parker and wife, Peggy of Bridge City; daughter, Linda Parker Koonce and husband, Curtis of Lufkin; grandchildren, David Dearing and wife, Shannon, Rodney Parker, Robyn Kordish and husband, Joe, Amanda Farrar and husband, Chris; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Parker, I am so sorry about your loss. I remember all the times when we lived next door to you and he would catch you looking through the fence. He always laughed at that and was so full of spirit and energy. He will be missed very much.##imported-begin##Tiffany L. Higgs##imported-end##
