Obituary

December 5, 1975 – January 8, 2026

Wendy Michelle Foret Brooks, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and pillar of her community, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the age of 50. A lifelong resident of Southeast Texas, Wendy was known for her tireless work ethic, her infectious friendliness, and her unwavering devotion to her family.

A Legacy of Love and Faith

For 28 years, Wendy was the devoted wife of Paul Brooks. Together, they raised two sons who were the light of her life: Koby, 24, who honorably serves in the United States Navy, and Kaleb, 20, a student at Lamar University.

Wendy’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sour Lake, where she took great joy in serving the Youth Ministry. Her commitment to education and her community was evident through her years of service in the PTO at China Elementary and her leadership as the Past President of the Henderson Middle School PTO.

A Friendly Face to All

Whether she was assisting customers at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Beaumont or greeting regulars at the Diamond S Diner in China, Wendy treated everyone like family. Her kindness was legendary, and she had a unique ability to brighten the day of anyone she served.

When she wasn't working or volunteering, Wendy was most often found cheering on her favorite teams. An avid sports fan, she loved nothing more than spending time with Paul and her boys watching the Houston Texans, the Houston Astros, The University of Miami, and—true to her roots—anything LSU.

Family

Wendy is survived by her husband, Paul Brooks; her sons, Koby and Kaleb; her father, Darrell Foret of Bevil Oaks; and her brother, Darrell Foret, Jr. of Mexia. She is now reunited in Heaven with her mother, Betty Foret, who preceded her in death.

Service Information The family will receive friends for Visitation on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Claybar Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas. A Funeral Service will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sour Lake, Texas, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 11:00 am to celebrate Wendy’s life and her homecoming to the Lord.

"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!'" — Matthew 25:23
