It’s too late now, much too late for anyone to hear what I have to say. My mother was always an enigma to me. My life as a toddler, while she was here, was chaotic and I didn’t understand who she really was yet. The other day someone told me what her voice sounded like. It had never occurred to me that I had no memory of her speaking. Blessed be, mother. Gone, but never forgotten.
