Wilbur Glenn McCown

Wilbur Glenn McCown, 80, of Silsbee, passed away August 10, 2011.

Mr. McCown was born on February 1, 1931 in China, Texas to Enos and Nannie Murff McCown. He retired as a mechanic with Texas Gulf Sulphur after 35 years.

Funeral services will be held at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Shannon Kilpatrick and Pastor Sidney Woods officiating. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 ? 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m.

Mr. McCown is preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Elodie McCown, daughter, Connie Smith and husband Gordon of Silsbee; sons, Ronnie McCown and wife Cheryl of Lumberton, Doug McCown and wife JoVonne of Scurry and Doyle McCown and wife Milissa of Kountze. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and his sister-in-law Joyce McCown of Lumberton.

My heart, thoughts, prayers and love go out to you all. Wilbur was such a sweet and kind gentleman and will be missed.
