William Thurman Carlock

William Thurman Carlock, 84, died Wednesday June 10, 2009, at Baptist Orange Hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Chaplain Kevin Trinkle.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 Friday, at the funeral home.

William was born on June 1, 1925, in Leesville, Louisiana. He was the son of Almon and Ola Haymon Carlock. William was a US Navy veteran serving his country during WWII onboard naval submarines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Almon and Ola Haymon Carlock; and his two brothers, Sherman Carlock and Winston Carlock.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Genevieve Carlock of Orange whom he married on August 4, 1946; daughters, Sheila Freeman and her husband Robert of Orange, Danita Zylks of Orangefield; grandchildren, Stacey Webb, Melinda Freeman, Delinda Savoy, Heather Zylks; great-grandchildren, Samuel Webb, Will Webb, Daniel Guidry, David Savoy, Sterling Savoy, William Martin, Christopher Martin, Blake Martin, Haley Martin, Skyler Martin, and Emma Freeman; brother and sister, Jewel Howard of Orange and Vernon Carlock of Orange; and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robert Freeman, Samuel Webb, Steve Stidivent, Chad Savoy, Scott Kennedy and Jimmy Ashfield. Honorary Pallbearers will be his great grandsons, Will Webb, William Martin, Christopher Martin, Blake Martin and Daniel Guidry.
