Wilma Welch, 92, of Beaumont, passed away on December 24, 2018, at College Street Healthcare Center in Beaumont.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, December 28, 2018, at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze. Officiating will be Reverend Keith Boudreaux.

Born in Silsbee, Texas, on August 19, 1926, she was the daughter of Langford Marian Outlaw, Sr. and Bennett Lea (Herrington) Outlaw. Wilma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a strong Christian lady.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wiggins Welch.

Wilma is survived by her children, Bill Welch and wife, Kathy and Aliceson Summers all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Chava Frich Sanderson and husband, Jacob, Joelle Cleek and husband, Tommy, and Lauren Molina; great-grandchildren, Tristen Goodman, Victoria Cleek, Wesley Cleek, Lucas Frich Sanderson, Sofia Frich Sanderson.

I am so sorry to have missed her service today at 1 p.m. I just found out about her passing this afternoon. She was a true inspiring Christian woman and so much fun. My mom (Irble Gordey) and her were the best of friends and we practically grew up in each other's homes. At least there's another angel for mom to have coffee or tea with in Heaven. Bill and Aliceson and families, you are in my prayers.

Wilma was our neighbor on Magnolia for so many wonderful years as was Mr. & Mrs Outlaw, Marjorie her sister and Langford her brother. We shared a common driveway and the Outlaws (who were for from the regular meaning of outlaws) were the very best of people and neighbors. In the more recent years Ann and I would see Wilma out at Parkdale, Lubys, and other places we both frequented. We ate with her a time or two. It was always our pleasure to see and visit with Wilma. She was a Strong Woman of her Faith and to me a True Friend. We will miss Wilma on this side but hope to see her and all of her family on the other side. Bucky and Ann
